The Kyrgyz State Circus is one of Bishkek’s most notable buildings, thanks to its flying saucer-like shape and combination of mint green and egg yellow paintwork.
I’d read conflicting reports about the structure, with some saying it was abandoned, whilst others led me to believe that it was still in use.
Fortunately, the circus was right by my hotel, so with my first time out in the Kyrgystan sunshine, I had to pay a visit to see which set of rumours were true.
