My [travel] bucket list
/It’s something I had never really thought about in much detail. Something, until the point I’d begun laying the groundwork for Travelling Tom, I’d never considered in any significant detail. It takes some thought and deliberation, omissions and narrow inclusions. Oxford’s dictionary defines it as ‘A number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime.’
I am, of course, talking about a bucket list.
In my life I’ve had dreams, dreams that I’ve grown out of, dreams that have altered with time. But the ones I currently aspire towards have always been constant. They are, in a somewhat simple fashion, to live in the United States of America and to travel to every country in the world.
But to define my bucket list by those two aspirations would virtually be cheating, or at least purporting the rules of making one (according to wikiHow anyway). Plus, it would be nice to have a list of stuff to target and check off as I go along. Those two things alone – both big and ambitions could take years to fulfil. Rethink and reshape, and I could be scratching lines into an index as soon as 2016.
So after some careful consideration, and the various processes above, I finally decided on an initial list with the potential for a nip and tuck along the way.
Without further ado, here is my bucket list.

Travelling as part of your job is super-exciting, but some people think it’s a holiday – and I can actually see why they might.
