An update

Rounding off 2018 with a trip to Pyongyang, North Korea was one of the highlights.

I didn’t do a Merry Christmas or Happy New Year post this year, so this may as well be two rolled into one (although I do, sincerely, hope you all had a great festive period).

2018 was rather disappointing from a growth point of view. I neglected my blog somewhat, I became disenfranchised with Instagram (then again, who hasn’t) and I got into the routine of pushing whatever blog post I could think up last-minute, or had to hand, towards the end of the week.

But 2019 is a year in which I want to do better. I want to improve myself, I want to work with more brands, I want to create more videos, I want to record more podcasts, I want to travel further, I want to meet more people, I want to get healthier, I want to improve.

What to expect in 2019

Resting on my laurels did me no favours last year, and this time around I’ve already made the first big decision – to completely revamp TravellingTom.com and, in doing so, create a more inspiring, informative and educational space to help people travel better, cheaper and more.

That’s why, hopefully within the next couple of months, I’ll be moving this website from Squarespace to Wordpress for greater flexibility, customisation and, hopefully, a better experience not just for me, but also for you, too.

In addition to a host of website changes, I’ll soon be starting a project to re-chronicle my travels through a second Instagram account (because Instagram has either shadowbanned my current one, or unfairly and severely restricts its reach), starting my podcast back up and bringing a new type of video to my YouTube channel

In closing…

Tbilisi’s Old Town is one of the world’s most beautiful.

There’s not much more to say, because what’s left for me now is to execute my plans and produce content that I hope you’ll love. Stick around for a heck of a lot more from Travelling Tom in 2019.
